SEPTEMBER 18, 2015 (GLENDORA, CA) Vicenti is proud to announce that Partner Emeritus and Co-Founder Royce Stutzman has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA). This notable award honors CPAs who have made an extraordinary contribution to the profession, CalCPA, and the community. Stutzman was presented with the award on September 17, 2015 at an event held for attorneys, bankers, CPAs, and other professionals by the Inland Empire Chapter of CalCPA.

Stutzman joined the firm in 1962 when it was known as Richard H. Vicenti & Company. He was the fourth employee of the firm, which had just moved to a new office in La Verne. The office was the only commercial building on Foothill Boulevard at the time and was surrounded by orange trees. The firm, as well as the community, expanded exponentially from there. After merely four years of working at Vicenti, Stutzman was named partner and the firm was re-named Vicenti, Lloyd & Stutzman LLP. As partner, Stutzman grew and developed the firm while continuing to provide thorough and tailored service to his clients. In 1975, he was named managing partner, and became Chairman in 1994. Around this same time, Stutzman found that many of his clients were in need of business valuation services. Never wanting to miss an opportunity to better serve his clients and community, Stutzman became a Certified Valuation Analyst in 1995 and Accredited in Business Valuation shortly thereafter. Stutzman now serves as Partner Emeritus and continues to provide business valuation services to his clients.

Along with helping to grow the firm from four employees when he first joined to more than 70, Stutzman always maintained an active presence in the community as he believes in the critical importance of giving back. Over the years, Stutzman has served on many non-profit boards, advisory boards, and the boards of publicly traded companies as well as professional organizations. The community knows Stutzman to be a dedicated community member, clients see him as their highly-esteemed trusted advisor that can help them navigate through myriad business issues, and employees at Vicenti know him to be a thoughtful mentor.

“We are thrilled to have our Co-Founder, Royce Stutzman, honored with the CalCPA Distinguished Service Award,” said Linda Saddlemire, Vicenti Managing Partner/CEO. “We have always witnessed Royce’s exceptional service within our firm, and we are pleased that he has been recognized for his contributions to the profession and community through this highly respected award.”
